National Missing Children’s Day has been commemorated on May 25th of each year since 1983, when it was first proclaimed by US President Ronald Reagan. National Missing Children’s Day was declared in Canada in 1986 by then Solicitor-General Perrin Beatty.

National Missing Children’s Day is an opportunity to spread awareness and try to obtain new information from the public to help bring missing children home.
