James Bezan, Member of Parliament for Selkirk-Interlake, tables Bill C-478, “The Respecting Families of Murdered and Brutalized Persons Act.”  This Bill seeks to extend the parole eligibility period for those convicted of abduction, sexual assault and murder.

David Sweet, Member of Parliament for Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale, re-tables Bill C-479, “The Fairness for Victims Act“. This Bill   proposes to increase the period within which the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) must conduct detention reviews following a detention order and parole reviews following a denial of parole. It also provides additional support to victims.
